The Ancient Greeks

Today we toured the Ancient Greek ruins of Siracusa. We saw a very well preserved Greek fort, a Greek theater, as well as the quarry used to make the giant bricks the used to make some of their buildings.  This tour is great because we get more than just an explanation of what we are seeing, we get stories from Greek history and mythology that puts what we're seeing in perspective. The stories make the ruins come alive in a way that allows you to imagine what life would have been like back then. As I listen to our professor (this is our study abroad experience) he kind of reminds me in his talk, mannerisms, and opinions of my favorite law school professor.

Tonight we take a cooking class and feast on our creations. Another thing about this tour that is right up my alley.

Here are some pictures from today.
