A Day in Siracusa

Today we spent the day in Siracusa before the tour started at 5:45. We walked around the island, stopping to see the fruit, vegetable, and fish market as well as some lovely churches and other historical landmarks. We the went swimming (or at least I did) in the beach across from our hotel. Then when met up with our tour group and got a little of the history of this island. Our tour guide is a History Professor, so you can imagine how much I am enjoying this. We then finished the day off with lots of wine, antipasti and pasta with cannoli for dessert.
