A Day in Vittoria

Today we went to Vittoria, Sicily, where my grandfather was born. We met Maurizio Iachella, who is my 2nd cousin. It was a great day and one that I was looking forward to since Maurizio got in touch with my sister Judy last December. We got the chance to talk, although it was difficult because he spoke only Italian, and Rosette Stone just doesn't cut it for situations like this. It did help me communicate with him a little bit. We saw the cemetary where my great grandfather was buried, and actually saw the crypts belonging to two great uncles and a first cousin. It seems Dan has work to do, because he is one of the few Baucino males left to carry on the name. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to do this.
