It was a long day today. Left the hotel at 7:45 a.m. and got back at 11:30 p.m. Took 150 pictures at the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's until the camera battery died. The Vatican Museum was really cool, lots of neat sculptures and frescoes. The Sistine Chapel was fabulous. The highlight of the day had to be the Scavi Tour. They took us under St. Peter's Basilica where we saw a working archeological dig and the remains of St. Peter. Very, very cool. Then we went up the 320 steps to St. Peter's Dome. Thats more of a workout than we get at home! Finished up the day with a nice dinner and a store that gave us free limoncello samples (six to be exact). It must have loosened us up because we bought a bottle to bring back home. Well, now its time to call it a day. Tomorrow is Ancient Rome. Talk to you all soon.
